In 2017 Mirko comented: My first committed band was a jazz trio back in Sicily called Take Three, with whom I performed several gigs before moving to the UK. While working with Take Three, I had the pleasure of creating the soundtracks of several short movies from the director Luca Arcidiacono. After moving to London I worked as session musician with various artists, and creating soundtracks for independent film directors.
I started collaborating with the jazz fusion quartet called Infusion In 2015 and worked with them for almost 2 years, performing in various venues in London. After leaving infusion, I worked as a soundtrack composer for the Sydney writers festival and for the company, Tengri. At the end of 2016, I joined a guitar duo called De Fuego and played gigs around the UK for 8 months before leaving the project. I'm currently recording my own album, which will be released early next year (2026).
At this moment, Mirko can record on Acoustic, Classical, Electric, Semi-Acoustic, guitar synthesizer and Baritone guitars. He uses Neumann microphones for a rich, detailed sound on the unplugged guitars and a wide tonal selection on the others. He also ownes an original Roland GR-808 Guitar synth of the same series of the GR-303 Pat Metheny uses.
I'm a professional jazz guitarist proficient in several different types of guitars (Semi-acoustic, acoustic, electric, baritone and synth) and styles. On the side I enjoy playing keyboard, drums, bass and saxophone. I work as a soundtrack composer and session musician and I am always exploring new sounds and software to create fresh material.

The Story of the "One Night Only" Performance
While Damian Wilson has often used the phrase "one night only" for special residency shows or unique acoustic sets, the collaborative story between him and Mirko Sangrigoli often centers on the raw, live energy of their touring together: The Setting: On stage,
particularly during the 2023–2024 tour dates in venues like The Bosuil Weert, in the Netherlands or Harmonie in Bonn Germany, Mirko was tasked with replicating the complex guitar work of Damain Wilson's entire 30-year catalog, which includes Progressive metal from Threshold and Folk-inflected solo material.
The Musical Dynamic: During these shows, Mirko Sangrigoli provided not just technical proficiency but also crucial background vocals, harmonizing with Damian on staples like "Sanity's End". The Narrative Connection: In Wilson's "One Night Only" or "one-off" storytelling style, he often weaves personal anecdotes between songs.
At these concerts, Mirko Sangrigoli frequently played the "straight man" to Wilson's charismatic and humorous stage banter, providing the atmospheric, melodic backdrop that allowed Damian Wilson to connect intimately with the audience.
Beyond his work with Damian, Mirko is an accomplished musician in his own right, having performed with the progressive rock band Arena and released solo material, such as his 2024 album "Foehn".
In addition to his solo work, Mirko Sangrigoli worked on the Imaginaerium album titled The Siege, which was released in early 2025.

This neo-progressive rock project was spearheaded by Prog Rock icon Clive Nolan (Arena, Pendragon) and Laura Piazzai, featuring a cast of prolific musicians from the prog-rock scene.
